It also very recently occurred to me I might have accidentally blocked the outlet with the shelf, and I'd have nowhere to plug it in, but I'm not sure about that one. I don't know anything about wiring or power, and would very much likely cause a fire >_<.
However, I actually ended up looking for ones run by battery not because of the drilling (I thought about it more, and a tiny hole shouldn't matter too much), but I actually am now afraid of catching everything on fire. I tried looking on Amazon US for similar products, and they do have them. I would suggest investing in this as well to place around the door gaps on your case to make it very dust resistant as well as one of these to keep the humidity down and wood odours from getting to the figures(I painted the face black on mine and use it as a riser to hide it in the case).

If you prefer full light, then like everyone else said the 6000k led strips are the way to go! I personally have 4 sets of 4 lights of these in cool white and have not had an issue with them in the last 2 years 8hrs a day on time, I may have some pics in my collections if you have no idea what I mean by shadow effect. I prefer led spotlights in my cases as it creates a casted shadow effect. They fit most 1/7 moderate base sizes and 1/8 bases and sitting poses I've even cheaped out and used the outer shells of these boxes from the same line to get the job done before too If you want some high end looking stuff and have a granite store nearby, ask if they have any scrap trimmings they would be willing to cut into the diameters you need, one of my friends did it with black and white quartz and they charged her $15 each for 6" diameter and they're pretty thick, and it looks amazing when the light reflects off of it. I cheaped out on Risers, I use these Sammanhang mini shelf's from IKEA as 1 Inch risers.

What do you use for lighting, for cabinets that are not a Detolf? Every thread I've read about lighting is for an IKEA unit, and mine honestly has nowhere to thread a cord through (the back is the support for the shelf, so I can't drill into it), so I'm not sure how to handle it.
And the single step ones I'm seen at would only be ok for prize figures with small bases. So, I was wondering, for scale figures (and especially ones with large bases), what do you guys use to raise figures? I am well aware of acrylic risers for nendos, but those won't help here. Even my 1/7 scales are shorter, and can't put them in the back. However, this is not working for the second shelf.Īll of my second shelf figures are around the same size, and figures I'm getting later on are ALSO the same size, so they all end up being in the front, as I can't see them in the back. I only recently bought a bookshelf/cabinet for my figures (this one:, and so far have one shelf full, with the larger 1/7 figures in back, and 1/8/nendos/trading figures in the back.
I was wondering what you guys use for risers for scale or prize figures?
